Salon Event #6
AI is changing how we create and experience art. Is that a terrible thing? In many ways, it is. But it might also be the beginning of two new eras:One where we learn to deeply value human-made work. And another where creativity is democratized, and powerful tools are used to enhance communication and education.
Reflections on Post-Digital Life:
A Creative Workshop About AI and Ethics
In this session, Sergio Carvajal-Leoni (an artist and one of Austin’s most innovative media makers) will present a short documentary on AI, creativity, and its impact on artistic practice. The session will include a hands-on workshop where participants will critique AI-generated art, create their own pieces, and reflect on the results together.
You’ll also gain access to a custom AI chatbot, designed by Sergio, to guide you through the experience.
Please note this isn’t a session that glorifies AI or promotes blind adoption. It’s a space for understanding the current landscape, learning to use these tools with intention, and exploring how they’re reshaping some of the most human aspects of our lives.
Please bring to the event a laptop.
